Amy Crocker is an Associate Professor and Director of Social Accountability and Experiential Learning at the School of Rehabilitation Sciences, University of the Incarnate Word (UIW). She joined UIW in January 2012 as a founding faculty member and is licensed to practice physical therapy in Texas.

Her research and professional interests center on social accountability, interprofessional education, experiential learning, pro bono care integration in physical therapy curricula, and the use of technology in education. She played a key role in establishing the UIW Community Clinic, which began serving San Antonio in January 2016. Her scholarly work reflects a strong commitment to innovative, community-engaged, and technology-enhanced education models.
The two most recent publications highlight her focus on integrating technology in problem-based learning environments and assessing interprofessional education awareness across health professions. These works align with broader themes in health sciences education, digital learning tools, and collaborative practice training.

Leadership and Service: Amy serves as Director of Social Accountability and Experiential Learning. She is active in multiple national and state-level organizations, including the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) sections on Education, Orthopaedics, and Health Policy and Administration. She is also an Ambassador for the National Center for Interprofessional Education and Practice, a member of the American Council of Academic Physical Therapy National Interprofessional Education Consortium, and part of the Texas Interprofessional Education Consortium. She contributes to scholarship through conference presentations and institutional service, including the Professional Critical Self-Reflection Series.
Labs and Initiatives: She was instrumental in developing the UIW Community Clinic, a student-run pro bono clinic that provides physical therapy services while offering experiential learning opportunities. This initiative reflects her dual focus on community engagement and pedagogical innovation.
