معرفی
Kathryn Schuller is a Lecturer in Biological Sciences at Flinders University's Faculty of Science and Engineering. Her research spans omega-3 fatty acid metabolism in aquaculture species like southern bluefin tuna and antimalarial drug development, utilizing molecular biology to explore seafood nutritional quality and sustainable marine omega-3 production. She coordinates the undergraduate Biochemistry topic (BIOL2771) with over 300 students annually, focusing on metabolic biochemistry and protein structure/function.
- Former Associate Dean (Teaching and Learning) of the Faculty of Science and Engineering
- Past Chair of Flinders University-Australian Science and Mathematics School (ASMS) Core Team
- Coordinated Flinders node of the Primary Industry Centre for Science Education (PICSE)
Her research group investigates oxidative stability in aquaculture species and peroxiredoxins, a novel class of antioxidant genes/enzymes. Awards include the Flinders Vice Chancellor's Award for Excellence in Teaching (2002) and an Australian Learning and Teaching Council Citation (2008). She has supervised 8 postgraduate students as principal supervisor since 2005.
