Kathryn Clarke is a Senior Lecturer in Primary Mathematics Education at the University of Chester, UK. She holds dual roles as Programme Leader for the PGCE Primary and PGCE Primary/Early Years Programmes, focusing on Core and Lead School Partner routes. Her work emphasizes preparing future primary school teachers to excel in professional, academic, and subject-specific competencies while maintaining student wellbeing. She oversees the rigorous PGCE Programme, ensuring students achieve Level 7 credits and develop reflective teaching practices.
Her research explores beginning teachers' perceptions of teaching mathematics, addressing challenges in building confidence and positivity towards the subject.
