Overview
Prof. Dr. Kathrin Loer is a Professor of Political Science (W2) at Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences since 2020 and Dean of Studies at the Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences since 2023. She holds a Dr. rer. pol. from the University of Osnabrück (2010) and an M.A. in European Studies (2005). Her academic career includes post-doctoral research at FernUniversität Hagen and teaching roles at Central European University (Budapest) and the University of Twente (Netherlands).
Research Focus
Her research centers on consumer policy, health policy, and behavioral public policy. Key areas include regulatory instruments in consumer protection, behavioral insights in governance, and the impact of crises like the pandemic on policy frameworks. She has led projects funded by the BMBF, BMJV, and NRW School of Governance, totaling over €3 million in grants.

Teaching & Administration
