Kathrin Cohen Kadosh is a Professor at the University of Surrey, leading the Brain Nutrition Gut Microbiome group. Her work focuses on the microbiome-gut-brain axis and its impact on cognitive, emotional, and social development in children and adolescents. She advocates for co-production methods, collaborating closely with young people, families, and clinical practitioners to ensure practical relevance in her research.
Education: PhD from Birkbeck College, University of London, followed by postdoctoral training at University College London, King’s College London, the National Institutes of Health (USA), and the University of Oxford. Her research integrates translational approaches to mental health, emphasizing biological and dietary interventions.
She is a founding member of the Nutrition Society’s Special Interest Group for Nutritional Psychiatry, promoting interdisciplinary strategies to address mental health through nutrition. Her group develops dietary protocols targeting mood, cognition, and brain activity in youth, with measurable real-world outcomes.
