Kathleen Knoll-Frey

Kathleen Knoll-Frey is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Sociology and Criminology at John Carroll University. She earned her B.A. in Criminal Justice and Political Science, M.A. in Criminal Justice from the University of Albany, SUNY, and Ph.D. in Criminology and Criminal Justice from the University of Maryland College Park.

Her research focuses on prisons, theory testing, and strategies to reduce prison populations. She also specializes in corrections, policing, criminological theories, victimology, the death penalty, and quantitative methods. Dr. Knoll-Frey has collaborated with students at John Carroll University on publications in criminology and criminal justice journals.
