Katherine L. Brown is an Assistant Professor of Spanish at Albright College. She holds a B.A. in Hispanic Studies from the College of William & Mary and a Ph.D. in Spanish from Yale University. Her research focuses on early modern Hispanic literatures and cultures, particularly the works of Miguel de Cervantes, and she is currently working on her book Novel Foundations: Architecture and Literary Modernity in Cervantes. She also specializes in second language acquisition, holding certifications from Yale’s Center for Language Study.

- Professional Roles: Faculty Advisor for Sigma Delta Pi (Spanish Honor Society), former instructor at Yale and University of Illinois at Chicago.
Her research interests span Cervantes’ narrative techniques, colonial Latin American literature, and the intersections of visual/material culture with textual analysis. She teaches courses such as Advanced Spanish II, Cross-Cultural Encounters in the Early Modern Hispanic World, and Magic, Mystery, and Politics in Hispanic Literatures.
Her publications explore themes like architecture in Cervantes’ works, Borges’ literary apocrypha, and missionary theater in colonial Mexico. She actively contributes to academic societies including the Modern Language Association (MLA) and the Cervantes Society of America (CSA).
