Darryl Dedelow Jr. is a Ph.D. Candidate (ABD) and Spanish Instructor at the University of Kentucky's Hispanic Studies Department. His research focuses on Early Modern Spanish Literature and Historical Memory, particularly the Spanish Civil War. He is affiliated with the Modern Language Association (MLA) and Cervantes Society of America (CSA).
His dissertation, "Politics of Numancia", is advised by Moisés R. Castillo and supported by a committee including Joseph O'Neil (German Studies), Ana Rueda, and Carmen Moreno-Nuño. Key research contributions include applying cognitive literary studies to María de Zayas' works and analyzing gender dynamics in Don Quixote.
Teaching responsibilities include courses ranging from Elementary Spanish (SPA 101-103) to Intermediate levels (SPA 201-202). He has presented at international conferences including the International Conference for Young Researchers on Theater Studies (Universidad de Murcia) and Portland State University's Graduate Student Colloquium.
