Fernando Rodríguez-Mansilla is a Professor in the Department of Spanish, Latin American, and Bilingual Studies at Hobart and William Smith Colleges. He has been a member of the faculty since 2010 and holds a Ph.D. in Spanish Philology from the Universidad de Navarra, Spain.

His research also extends to contemporary Peninsular and Southern Cone literature, with a particular attraction to topics such as animal studies, narrative devices in fiction, and the novella cortesana.
His recent publications demonstrate a consistent trend in analyzing canonical and lesser-known texts from the Spanish Golden Age, often through the lenses of cultural interpretation, satire, and identity. His work frequently appears in leading journals in the field of Hispanic studies.
