Ryan Schmitz, Ph.D., is an Associate Professor in the Department of Spanish & Hispanic Studies at Texas Christian University (TCU), affiliated with the AddRan College of Liberal Arts. He holds a Ph.D. in Hispanic Literature from the University of Texas, Austin. His research focuses on Early Modern Spanish Literature, particularly Cervantes, Golden Age Drama, Renaissance Studies, and Cognitive Approaches to Literature, with additional interests in Colonial Latin America.
Dr. Schmitz teaches a range of courses including advanced Spanish language, literature seminars on Cervantes and the Spanish Golden Age, and cultural studies of Spain.
