Katerina Strani is an Associate Professor and Deputy Head of Department in Languages & Intercultural Studies at Heriot-Watt University. She leads the Migration Theme at the Intercultural Research Centre (IRC) and holds roles such as Senate member and Chartered Linguist (French, Greek, Russian). Her research focuses on multilingualism, migration, intercultural dialogue, and hate speech with a theoretical foundation in Habermasian public sphere theory.

- Racism and discrimination mechanisms
