Dr. Kate Rowbotham is an Assistant Professor and Distinguished Faculty Fellow of Organizational Behaviour at the Smith School of Business, Queen's University. She also serves as Assistant Dean (Teaching and Learning). Her roles include academic integrity panel membership, dispute resolution advising, and curriculum committee involvement. She holds a PhD from the University of Toronto's Rotman School of Management, and degrees from Queen's University.
Her research focuses on inclusion/exclusion dynamics in organizations and education, academic integrity, and deviance studies. Notable works explore how belongingness influences integrity perceptions and the gender implications of modesty in negotiations. Teaching interests include organizational behavior, HR management, and ethics.
Awards include multiple teaching accolades such as the Commerce ’89 Professor-Student Life Award (2018) and Commerce Society Teaching Awards (2018, 2015). She actively engages in service roles like the Queen’s University Academic Integrity Subcommittee and Smith School of Business curriculum committees.
Her work emphasizes inclusive pedagogy and values-based leadership, extending to non-profit HR consulting and community training initiatives.
