Christopher Miners is an Associate Professor of Organizational Behaviour at Queen's University's Smith School of Business. He holds a B.Sc. in Psychology from McGill University and a Ph.D. in Organizational Behaviour and Human Resource Management from the University of Toronto. His research focuses on emotional intelligence and counternormative behavior in group contexts, exploring their impacts on job performance and well-being.
He teaches courses such as MGMT 956 (Advanced Topics in Organizational Behaviour) and COMM 151 (Organizational Behaviour). His academic service includes roles like Co-ordinator of the Organizational Behaviour Seminar Series and membership on committees like the Research Pool Committee and Academic Progress Committee. Miners has been recognized with awards including the Academy of Management Outstanding Reviewer Award (2013) and teaching nominations from Queen’s University.
His research is funded by SSHRC grants, including a 2013-2018 Insight Grant exploring interpersonal consequences of within-person variability. Key publications include studies in Administrative Science Quarterly, Leadership Quarterly, and Journal of Experimental Social Psychology.
