Dr. Kate Mathis is a Professor leading the Mathis Lab, which investigates ecological principles through observational studies, field experiments, chemical ecology, and lab experiments. Her work focuses on complex species interactions, chemical ecology, social insects, and agroecosystems. The lab actively mentors graduate students and collaborates on interdisciplinary research.
Research Interests: Dr. Mathis explores how species interactions influence managed systems, with a particular emphasis on chemical ecology (e.g., ant communication), social insect behavior, and ecological responses to urbanization and invasive species.
