Katayoun Torabi is an Instructional Associate Professor in the Department of English at Texas A&M University, specializing in Old and Middle English literature with a focus on Digital Humanities. She holds a Ph.D. (2018) and M.A. (2011) from Texas A&M and California State University-Northridge, respectively. Her research integrates computational methods with medieval studies, particularly examining religious narratives and material culture through digital platforms.
Her work centers on collaborative digital projects such as the New Variorum Shakespeare (NVS), which she manages at the Center for Digital Humanities Research (CoDHR). Key contributions include developing open-access scholarly editions and exploring methodologies for encoding historical texts using TEI and linked data technologies.
Teaching spans undergraduate and graduate courses in digital humanities theory, medieval literature, and the history of the English language. She emphasizes interdisciplinary approaches, frequently collaborating across departments like History and Religious Studies.
