Prof. Kasper Roszbach is a part-time Professor of Banking and Finance at the University of Groningen's Faculty of Economics and Business. He concurrently serves as Research Director at Norges Bank (Norway's central bank) and holds editorial roles at the Journal of International Money and Finance and Journal of Financial Stability. His expertise spans empirical banking, financial intermediation, and central bank governance.
Education: PhD in Economics (Stockholm School of Economics), MA in Economics (University of Rochester), and a master's from Erasmus University Rotterdam. Prior roles include Director of Financial Stability and Deputy Head of Research at Sveriges Riksbank, and advisor to the Swedish Ministry of Finance during the 2008 crisis.
Research focuses on credit risk, financial institutions' information-sharing, and household finance. His work addresses macroeconomic transmission mechanisms and central bank governance structures. Recent studies explore collateral effects on firm performance and the role of credit ratings in bank monitoring.
