Karolin Isaksson is a Supervisor in the Department of Surgery at Lund University's Faculty of Medicine and is affiliated with the Lund University Cancer Centre (LUCC) and the Lund Melanoma Study Group. With 68 research outputs and involvement in multiple active research projects, she is an established researcher in oncology, particularly focused on melanoma and breast cancer. Her work contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goals related to health and wellbeing.
Dr. Isaksson's research expertise spans multiple areas of cancer medicine, with particular focus on melanoma subtypes including nodular melanoma (96% fingerprint match) and cutaneous melanoma (29% match). She also has significant expertise in breast cancer research (58% match), therapeutic procedures, and patient prognosis. Her work integrates molecular diagnostics with clinical applications to improve cancer detection and treatment outcomes.

She is an active organizer of academic events, having co-organized multiple LUCC Skin retreats and seminars, including the 2024 LUCC Skin retreat (Sept 19-20, 2024 to Sept 20, 2025), LUCC Skin Seminar (May 7, 2024), and previous BioMEL retreats. These events bring together researchers focused on skin cancer and melanoma research.
