معرفی
Göran B Jönsson is a Professor and Head of Division at Lund University Cancer Centre (LUCC), where he serves as Principal Investigator for melanoma research. He leads the Melanoma Genomics group and co-manages the Lund Melanoma Study Group. His work focuses on genomic tumor biology, particularly molecular subtypes and therapeutic resistance in melanoma.
Research Interests: Dr. Jönsson's program investigates melanoma lineage states using functional genomics, with emphasis on:
- MITF-high/low transcriptional programming in metastatic melanoma
- Resistance mechanisms to BRAF/MEK inhibitors and anti-PD1/PDL1 immunotherapies
- Development of prognostic molecular signatures through siRNA screens and genomic analysis
Publication Focus: His 142+ publications consistently explore melanoma stratification, gene expression phenotypes, and clinical translation of genomic findings, with recurring themes in tumor heterogeneity and treatment response prediction.
Leadership & Projects:
- Principal Investigator for 8 active grants (e.g., Knut and Alice Wallenberg Foundation, Swedish Foundation for Strategic Research)
- Organizes LUCC Skin Research Retreats and seminars
- Supervises PhD candidates in cancer evolution and immune responses
Infrastructure: Leads projects on single-cell spatial tumor analysis and tertiary lymphoid structure characterization.
