Karol Jagodziński is a Predoctoral Researcher at CIC energiGUNE specializing in Electrochemical Energy Storage under the DESTINY European Doctoral Program, supervised by Dr. Damien Saurel since October 2022.
His educational trajectory includes:
- Bachelor's in Fire Safety from the Main School of Fire Service (2019), investigating coke dust explosive properties
- Bachelor's in Technology of Chemistry from Warsaw University of Technology (2020), synthesizing ceramic-polymer electrolytes with novel lithium salts
- Master's in Materials for Energy Storage and Conversion (MESC+) across Warsaw University of Technology, Toulouse III - Paul Sabatier University, and University of Basque Country
His research pioneers next-generation Li-ion batteries through composite silicon anode design, sulfide-based solid-state electrolyte modification, and stable SEI interface engineering. This work targets enhanced energy density and safety in electrochemical storage systems by implementing novel binders and characterizing material interactions at molecular levels.
Notable recognition includes:
- Industrial Scholarship from Umicore during Master's studies
As part of the DESTINY European Doctoral Program (a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions network), he operates within CIC energiGUNE's Electrochemical Energy Storage division, collaborating across international academic and industrial partners to advance battery materials science.
