Professor Karlheinz Kautz holds the position of Professor of Digital Business at the School of Accounting, Information Systems, and Supply Chain at RMIT University's College of Business and Law in Melbourne, Australia. He previously served as Deputy Head of School for Research and Innovation at RMIT and held professorial roles at the University of Wollongong (Australia) and Copenhagen Business School (Denmark). His academic journey includes a PhD in Information Systems from the University of Oslo and an MSc in Computer Science from the Technical University of Berlin.
Professor Kautz's research focuses on digital innovation, IT management, and sociotechnical approaches to information systems. He has led significant projects on digital transformation, digital ecosystems, and the diffusion of IT innovations. His editorial roles include Editor-in-Chief of the Australasian Journal of Information Systems and contributions to journals such as the Journal of Information Technology. He has also organized major conferences like the European Conference on Information Systems (ECIS 2018).
His supervisory interests span digital business, IT innovation, and organizational implementation of technology. He actively engages in collaborative research, including projects on digital transformation in Vietnam and platform business models.
