Karim-Jean Armache is the Laura and Isaac Perlmutter Professor of Biochemistry in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Pharmacology at NYU Grossman School of Medicine, part of NYU Langone Health. His research focuses on chromatin-modifying complexes like Polycomb Group (PcG), Trithorax Group (TrxG), and DNA methylation machinery, investigating their roles in gene regulation and their links to cancer and developmental disorders.
Education: PhD from Ludwig Maximilian University Munich. His work spans epigenetics, chromatin structure, and cancer biology. Recent publications highlight mechanisms of histone modification, Polycomb complex activities, and cancer-associated epigenetic dysregulation.
- Received the Packard Foundation Fellow award.
- Led studies on chromatin dynamics and epigenetic regulation in disease contexts.
Lab: Armache Lab focuses on molecular mechanisms of chromatin regulation, with ongoing projects on Polycomb complexes and cancer epigenetics. Collaborations include structural biology and biochemical approaches to probe chromatin states.
