Karen Taylor

Karen Taylor is a Senior Lecturer in Adult Nursing at the University of Wolverhampton, Faculty of Education, Health & Wellbeing, based at the Walsall Campus. She is affiliated with the School of Nursing and brings extensive clinical and academic expertise in orthopaedic nursing and practice education.

Her work focuses on innovative models to enhance student learning in clinical environments, including the Enriched Learning in Clinical Practice (ELCP) model and the STaRS project (Structured Training and Accessible Resources to Succeed), which aim to improve student support and placement capacity. She has presented at the NET Conference 2023 with plans for future publications.

Advising and Grants: Karen actively supports student nurses and healthcare professionals through mentoring, coaching, and curriculum development. She has facilitated training for Trainee Nursing Associates, pre-registration nursing and midwifery students, Allied Health Professionals, and international nurses within NHS preceptorship programs. As part of the STaRS project, she contributes to the development of structured training resources to improve clinical learning outcomes.

Labs and Teams: She is an active member of the STaRS project team, focusing on strategies and resources to enable student success in clinical practice. Her collaborative work with NHS education departments and leadership programs highlights her integration within clinical-academic networks.
