She earned her BA from the University of Virginia and MA, MPhil, and PhD from Columbia University.
As an archaeologist and volcanologist, her research examines radical climate changes throughout history to derive insights for contemporary environmental challenges. She specializes in translating complex scientific concepts through creative outreach, emphasizing how science communication can foster sustainable and equitable societal transformations. Her interdisciplinary approach bridges earth sciences, historical climate data, and community engagement strategies.
