Anna Sommer

Anna Sommer is a Research Scientist at the National Centre for Atmospheric Science (NCAS) within the University of Reading's Department of Meteorology. She holds a PhD in Physical Oceanography from the LOCEAN laboratory in Paris (2016). Her research focuses on ocean and climate modeling, meso-scale processes, and applying Machine Learning to improve model parameterization and biogeochemical simulations. She has worked on projects such as the AtlantOS H2020 initiative and the Make Our Planet Great Again-funded Hermès project. Her recent work includes enhancing global biogeochemical models like PlankTOM and advancing high-resolution climate models.
