Karen Fitzgerald

Karen Fitzgerald is a Professor in the School of Nursing at the University of Akron. She holds an MSN from the University of Akron (1996) and dual BSN degrees from Kent State University (1986 and 1978). Her research focuses on pediatric nursing, public health, and healthcare workforce development, with recent work addressing oral health in low-income children and electronic health record challenges in pediatric behavioral health. She has presented at conferences such as the Midwestern Nursing Research Society and Delta Omega Spring, discussing care for non-offending caregivers of child sexual abuse victims. Her office is located in Mary Gladwin Hall 206F.
