Kamrun Nahar

Kamrun Nahar is a Lecturer in Water Engineering at the University of Southern Queensland since 2019, with over a decade of academic experience in environmental contaminants, sustainability, and water quality.

Her research spans PFASs, microplastics, and heavy metals in soil-water-atmosphere systems, contaminant fate modelling, and environmental policy. Recent publications focus on sustainable composites, biosolid application risks, and analytical methods for pollutants.

Current projects include developing smart irrigation systems for coastal salinity zones and PFAS bio-adsorbents using fruit peels. She supervises 6+ postgraduate students in water resources, waste management, and sustainable engineering, and has secured competitive grants for PFAS monitoring and herbicide transport studies.
