Kamar Habli is a doctoral researcher at the University of Luxembourg, affiliated with the Faculty of Humanities, Education and Social Sciences and the Department of Education and Social Work. She is currently working on the SeaSons project since joining the Institute for Social Research and Interventions in 2024.
- Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition and Dietetics from the University of Saint Joseph of Beirut (Lebanon)
- Erasmus Mundus Joint Master’s Degree in Food Identity (France, Italy, Romania, Greece)
- Second Master’s degree in Management: Sustainable Agri-Food Value Chains and Supply Chains (CDVALES) at IAMM Montpellier (France)
Her research focuses on sustainable food systems, including the analysis of hybrid collectives like Mid-Tier Food Systems (Systèmes alimentaires du Milieu) and Values-Based Territorial Food Networks (VBTFNs). She investigates socio-technical interactions at micro, meso, and macro levels, territorial food governance, and the role of small and medium-sized food businesses in relocalization approaches. Her work also emphasizes climate change adaptation, sustainable knowledge, and circular economy practices.
Kamar previously contributed to the Horizon 2020 MOVING project, studying sustainable practices in mountain-based food value chains, and the TETRAE TRAACT project, analyzing socio-ecological transitions in food-producing territories. Her expertise spans Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) and Protected Geographical Indication (PGI) frameworks, with a strong emphasis on local traditional food products and governance.
