Kaitlyn Chriswell

Kaitlyn Chriswell is a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the Center for Philosophy, Politics, and Economics (PPE) at Brown University. She holds a PhD in Government from Harvard University and a B.A. in Political Science and Spanish from Northwestern University. Her research focuses on the intersection of political violence, civil society, democracy, and regional dynamics in Latin America.

Her current book project examines how criminal group presence influences citizen-state interactions, based on mixed-methods analysis of Mexican municipalities. This work has received support from the U.S. Institute of Peace, National Science Foundation, Weatherhead Center for International Affairs, and David Rockefeller Center for Latin American Studies.
