Kait Pinder is an Associate Professor of English at Acadia University and Associate Fellow in Contemporary Studies at King’s Community. She holds a PhD from McGill University and degrees from Western University (BA, MA). Her research explores Canadian literature’s engagement with philosophical ideas and cultural politics, particularly through feminist frameworks and analyses of impostor syndrome. Pinder has contributed to interdisciplinary projects including a feminist literature textbook and a literary history of impostor syndrome.

Her research interests focus on 20th/21st century Canadian fiction, with recent work analyzing Margaret Laurence, Tracey Lindberg, and Leonard Cohen. Her 2019 article on Birdie won the Herb Wyile Prize. Pinder’s publications span modernism, postcolonial studies, and ethical criticism, demonstrating a commitment to interdisciplinary literary analysis.
Her articles collectively examine intersections between literature and philosophy, cultural identity, and contemporary social issues. Awards include the Herb Wyile Prize for best Canadian literature article (2019).
