Professor Lara Feigel holds the rank of Professor of Modern Literature and Culture at King's College London's Department of English. She co-directs the Centre for Modern Literature and Culture and oversees the Ivan Juritz Prize for Creative Experiment. Her research bridges literary criticism and cultural history, focusing on 20th-century literature, wartime narratives, feminist writing, and life-writing traditions.
Feigel's work often crosses disciplinary boundaries, as seen in The Love-charm of Bombs (2013) and Free Woman: Life, Liberation and Doris Lessing (2018). Her recent novel The Group (2020) explores contemporary women's lives through an intertextual lens. She has received grants including a European Research Council Starting Grant and a Philip Leverhulme Prize.
