Kaho Sakaue is a Lecturer in the Department of East Asian Languages and Cultures at Washington University in St. Louis. She holds a Master's in Japanese Pedagogy from Purdue University and a Master's in Second Language Acquisition, Policy, and Culture from the University of Southern Indiana, alongside a Bachelor's from Hiroshima University.
Her research focuses on second language acquisition of fluency, pronunciation, and technology integration in Japanese instruction, particularly exploring how early pronunciation training and immersive technologies like virtual reality enhance language learning.
Professional experience includes teaching Japanese at Middlebury College's summer program and Southern Indiana's Japanese program, as well as English instruction in Japanese junior high schools.
