Hisae Matsui serves as Senior Lecturer in Japanese Language at Princeton University's Department of East Asian Studies, teaching first through fourth-year Japanese courses since 2007. She also held the role of Acting Director of Princeton's Japanese Language Program (2020) and previously directed Japanese Studies at Salem International University (2003-2007).

Her work bridges cultural gaps by leveraging adaptive learning systems and ethical AI applications to transform second-language acquisition methodologies.
