Kyoko Matsui Loetscher is a Senior Lecturer in Japanese and Director of the Japanese Language Program at Columbia University. She has been with the university since 2010, previously teaching at Princeton University for 8 years, including involvement in the Princeton Summer Program in Ishikawa.

Research Interests:
Her work focuses on Second Language Acquisition and Content-Based Instruction, specifically in Japanese language education. She has developed advanced curriculum materials for 4th/5th year Japanese courses at Princeton and continues to innovate teaching resources for 3rd year Japanese at Columbia.
Publications:
2016: Co-authored Shokyuu Nihongo no moji purojekuto (Japanese Orthography Project), focusing on foundational language learning frameworks.
