Jörg Kämper is a Professor at the Philipps-Universität Marburg since April 2006 and a Group Leader at the Department of Organismic Interactions of the Max Planck Institute for Terrestrial Microbiology (MPI Marburg) since September 2000. His academic career spans multiple prestigious institutions, including Ludwig-Maximilians University Munich and Ohio State Biotechnology Center.

- Habilitation in Munich (2000), Umhabilitation in Marburg (2001)
His research focuses on genetics and molecular phytopathology, particularly organismic interactions in fungi and plant-microbe systems. These areas are explored through interdisciplinary approaches combining molecular biology and ecological studies.
