معرفی
Prof. Dr. Gunther Döhlemann serves as Professor for Terrestrial Microbiology at the University of Cologne since May 2014, affiliated with CEPLAS (Cluster of Excellence on Plant Sciences) and the Institute for Plant Sciences.
His academic foundation includes:
- Biology studies specializing in Microbiology and Phytopathology at University of Kaiserslautern (1998-2003)
- Ph.D. in Phytopathology from University of Kaiserslautern (2003-2006)
- Habilitation in Genetics at Philipps-Universität Marburg (2012)
Research centers on Plant-Microbe Interactions using genetic approaches to dissect molecular mechanisms in terrestrial environments. His work bridges phytopathology and microbiology to address agricultural sustainability challenges, with emphasis on host-pathogen dynamics in controlled ecosystems.
Award recognition includes:
- Julius-Kühn Preis by Deutsche Phytomedizinische Gesellschaft (2014)
He secured a DFG Heisenberg Professorship grant on Plant-Microbe Interactions prior to joining Cologne, directing the Terrestrial Microbiology Lab within CEPLAS. Current research integrates field studies with molecular techniques through collaborations across European plant science networks.
The laboratory operates within CEPLAS infrastructure, focusing on microbial ecology in agricultural contexts and maintaining partnerships with Max Planck Institutes.
