Jyoti Ahuja is a Research Fellow and visiting lecturer at the University of Birmingham's Birmingham Law School. Her work focuses on legal frameworks for sustainability, particularly in technology metals and circular economy initiatives. She holds a PhD from the University of Birmingham (2017), an LLB (First Class Hons, 2011), and clinical psychology qualifications from India (MA, 1994; M.Phil, 1996). Prior to academia, she worked as a clinical psychologist in the NHS, shaping her interdisciplinary approach to law and science.

Her research interests bridge legal systems and scientific evidence, emphasizing sustainability goals and technology regulation. Key areas include electric mobility regulation, extended producer responsibility, and tort law’s role in addressing environmental harm. She teaches environmental law, tort law, and contributes to the LLM module on Environmental Protection and Pollution Control.
Committed to interdisciplinary collaboration, Jyoti’s work aims to inform legal policies through scientific rigor. Her current Met4Tech project explores legal structures for circular economies in tech sectors.
