Justin Sewell

Justin Sewell, MD, PhD, MPH is a researcher and educator at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) School of Medicine, Department of Medicine. He holds advanced degrees in Medicine (University of Arizona), Public Health (MPH), and Health Professions Education (PhD from Utrecht University). His work focuses on medical education innovation, gastroenterology procedural training, cognitive load theory, and healthcare equity. Dr. Sewell has been recognized with awards including the New Investigator Award from the American Educational Research Association (2017) and membership in the Academy of Medical Educators at UCSF (2015).
