Amandeep Shergill

Dr. Amandeep Shergill is a Professor of Medicine at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) School of Medicine specializing in Gastroenterology and Hepatology. Her clinical and research expertise focuses on gastrointestinal endoscopy, with particular emphasis on ergonomic considerations in endoscopic practice, colonoscopy quality metrics, and inflammatory bowel disease management.

Dr. Shergill received her medical degree from UCLA in 2001, completed Internal Medicine Residency and Gastroenterology Fellowship at UCSF in 2004 and 2007 respectively, and earned an MS in Environmental Health Sciences with a focus on Ergonomics from UC Berkeley in 2010. She furthered her professional development with Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Champion Training at UCSF in 2018.

Her research interests span endoscopic techniques, ergonomic interventions to prevent physician injury, colonoscopy training methodologies, and inflammatory bowel disease management.
