Sara Lewin

Sara Lewin, MD, is an Associate Professor in the Department of Medicine at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) School of Medicine. She is a gastroenterologist specializing in inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD), small intestine disorders, and nutritional deficiencies, with clinical expertise in endoscopic procedures such as upper endoscopy, colonoscopy, capsule endoscopy, and double-balloon enteroscopy.

Her work intersects with hospital medicine, translational biology, and transplantation, as seen in her 2024 multi-omics study and 2018 cardiac imaging research.
