Jurgen Adam is a Professor of Structural Geology at the Department of Earth Sciences, Royal Holloway, University of London. His research focuses on salt tectonics, orogenic processes, and the interplay between tectonics and surface processes. He has conducted studies using integrated seismic analysis and physical experiments, including sandbox simulations to model erosion effects on mountain-building processes.
His work spans structural geology, tectonics, and geomorphology, with contributions to understanding basin-scale processes in regions like the Laurentian Basin and the mechanics of bivergent orogens. He has supervised 12 students (names unlisted) and published widely in conference proceedings such as Geological Society of London Special Publications and Geological Society of America monographs.
Notable achievements include 53 Mendeley readers and referenced work in 3 Wikipedia pages, reflecting his impactful contributions to tectonic and sedimentological research.
