معرفی
Jurgen Adam is a Professor of Structural Geology at the Department of Earth Sciences, Royal Holloway, University of London. He directs the Salt Dynamics Group and Analogue Tectonic Modelling Laboratories (ATML@RHUL), and is a member of the Centre for Energy and Resources (CERES). With 32 years of expertise, his work spans structural geology, energy geosciences, salt tectonics, and geomechanics.
Education:
- PhD in Geology (Technical University of Berlin, 1996)
- M.Sc. equivalent (Diploma in Geology, Technical University of Clausthal, 1988)
- Fellow of The Higher Education Academy (2015)
- Postgraduate Diploma in Academic Practice (2009)
Research Interests: Focuses on continental margins, fold-and-thrust belts, salt tectonics, and geomechanics. Explores subsurface energy storage (e.g., CAES/HES in salt structures), physical modeling techniques, and fault/fracture processes. Integrates seismic, basin, and geomechanical modeling.
Awards: Recognized as a Fellow of The Higher Education Academy (2015).
Advising & Grants: Supervised 12 students, including Wen S. (2017 project on salt diapirs in the North Sea). Led projects funded by Shell Global Solutions and Petrobras, studying continental margins, salt tectonics, and structural inversion.
Labs & Teams: Oversees the Salt Dynamics Group and ATML@RHUL, advancing physical modeling and strain monitoring techniques.
