June Werdlow Rogers is an instructor in the Department of Criminology & Criminal Justice at Wayne State University's College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. A retired DEA Special Agent in Charge (2008), she holds a PhD from the University of Maryland (1997). Her career spans 28 years in law enforcement (local and federal roles) before transitioning to academia. She teaches courses on diversity in criminal justice, criminalistics, and administration in criminal justice.
Her research focuses on police crime control strategies, victimization prevention, and equality advocacy within criminal justice systems. She authored books including Cracking the Double Standard Code and Now Hiring Criminal Justice Professionals, alongside The Boss of Me is Me (2016), an anti-crime youth intervention tool. She advocates for marginalized criminal justice employees and emphasizes crime-free living through educational outreach.
Current teaching responsibilities include GSW2750, CRJ2750, CRJ4220, and CRJ7060 across multiple terms. Her work bridges law enforcement experience with academic instruction to address systemic inequalities and practical crime-fighting strategies.
