Yuning Wu is a Professor in the Department of Criminology and Criminal Justice at Wayne State University, within the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. She holds a bachelor's degree in Law from Renmin University of China and a Ph.D. in Criminology from the University of Delaware. Her research focuses on policing, criminological theories, public perception of crime, and victimization. Notable areas include police attitudes, immigrant views on law enforcement, and the impact of migration on crime.
Dr. Wu has received prestigious awards such as the 2015 Dorothy Bracey/Janice Joseph Minority and Women New Scholar Award and a Junior Faculty Award from Wayne State University. She also held a W.E.B. Du Bois Fellowship from the National Institute of Justice (2014–2015). Her work bridges theoretical and applied criminology, with a focus on cross-cultural comparisons and policy implications.
