Juliet Memery

Professor Juliet Memery holds a Professorship in Marketing at Bournemouth University’s Department of Marketing, Strategy and Innovation (Faculty of Management). Prior to this role, she was Associate Professor and Marketing & Entrepreneurship Group Leader at Plymouth University. Her research focuses on consumer behavior, decision-making processes, and food systems, with emphasis on sustainable food, food waste, and regional produce. Memery has secured grants from Defra, The Crown Estate, and the British Academy/Leverhulme Trust.

Education:

• PhD in Consumer Behaviour/Marketing (University of Plymouth, 2005)
• BSc (Hons) in Business & Accounting (Brunel University, 1998)

Research Interests: Memery’s work explores ethical grocery shopping, local/seasonal food consumption, food waste reduction, and seafood consumption habits. Recent projects include investigating dairy consumption patterns among young adults and regional food destination attractiveness. She co-edited books on humor in business (2018) and food stakeholder management (2016), and serves as Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of International Food & Agribusiness Marketing.

PhD Supervision: Currently guiding five doctoral researchers across consumer behavior, food systems, and digital marketing. Completed students include Robert Angell (2010), Sevil Yesiloglu (2018), and Samreen Ashraf.
