Julie Whitney is a Lecturer in Physiotherapy at the Department of Population Health Sciences, King’s College London. Her work focuses on frailty, aging populations, and rehabilitation strategies, contributing to UN Sustainable Development Goals related to health equity and well-being for all ages.
As a key researcher, she has led two significant projects: the Digital and Remote Enhancements for the Assessment and Management of older people living with frailty (DREAM) (funded by NIHR, 2022–2023) and a study on remote rehabilitation for post-COVID-19 survivors (funded by King’s College Hospital Charity, 2020–2020). These projects emphasize scalable interventions and healthcare accessibility for vulnerable populations.
Her research interests include gerontology, epidemiology, and clinical trial methodologies, with a strong emphasis on frailty assessment in emergency care, musculoskeletal rehabilitation, and the interplay between genetics, aging, and disease severity. She collaborates widely, contributing to large-scale studies like the PHOSP-COVID collaborative group.
