Adam Gordon

Adam Gordon is the inaugural Professor of Care of Older People at Queen Mary University of London, based at the Wolfson Institute of Population Health, Barts Health NHS Trust, and Whipps Cross Hospital. He holds an MBE for services to healthcare of older people and is an NIHR Senior Investigator. His clinical expertise is in Geriatric Medicine, with training spanning Edinburgh, Sydney, and the East Midlands. He previously served as Professor of Care of Older People at the Centre for Rehabilitation and Ageing Research in Nottingham.

Research Interests:

• Sarcopenia and muscle wasting
• Frailty assessment methodologies

His work focuses on improving healthcare delivery to older populations, including policy development, education curricula for geriatrics, and clinical trials evaluating interventions. Notable achievements include leadership roles in the British Geriatrics Society and contributions to international guidelines on aging and geriatric care.

Key Projects: Leads the Care Home and Ambulatory Workstream at the NIHR Oxford Healthtech Research Centre, and developed the Recommended Undergraduate Curriculum in Ageing and Geriatric Medicine.
