Juliane Kerkhecker is a Fellow of Oriel College and the Grocyn Lecturer in Classics at the University of Oxford, specializing in Classical Languages and Literature. She oversees the teaching of Latin and Greek across the university and serves as Senior Dean and Steward of the Common Room at Oriel College. Her academic background includes an MA and Staatsexamen from Tübingen.

Her research focuses on imperial Latin poetry and the works of Greek orators. Currently, she is writing a commentary on Statius' Thebaid, Book 8, reflecting her expertise in Roman epic literature and ancient rhetorical traditions.
With teaching experience in Oxford, Germany, and Switzerland, Juliane contributes to both undergraduate and postgraduate programs in Classics, English, Modern Languages, and Asian and Middle Eastern Studies. She is affiliated with the Faculty of Classics and actively engaged in academic stewardship through her roles at Oriel College.
