Juliane Baruck

Juliane Baruck is a Research Associate at the Hochschule für bildende Künste Hamburg (HFBK Hamburg), working on the research project Re•De•Re – Redesigning Democratic Representation. She collaborates with Dr. Friedrich von Borries, Professor of Design Theory, and Philippe Cartier, another Research Associate on the project.

Her research focuses on the intersection of design and democracy, particularly on reimagining democratic processes and institutions. The Re•De•Re project explores innovative ways to strengthen democratic representation through design interventions, such as the recent Redesign Democracy competition for future voting urns.

Juliane Baruck contributes to a growing body of work that applies artistic and design methodologies to pressing political and social challenges, positioning HFBK Hamburg as a key institution in the discourse on participatory and democratic design.
