معرفی
Dr. Julian Lum is a Professor (Limited Term) in the Department of Biochemistry and Microbiology at the University of Victoria. His research focuses on immunometabolism and the metabolic mechanisms underlying T cell function in cancer immunotherapy. He holds a BSc, MSc, and PhD from the University of Ottawa.
Research Interests: Dr. Lum's lab investigates how metabolism influences T cell immune responses, combining human biospecimen studies with cell line and murine models. Key areas include metabolic roles of autophagy in cancer and T cells, engineering T cells for immunotherapy, and metabolomics. The lab prioritizes translational applications in ovarian and prostate cancer treatment.
Grants & Funding:
- Lum Lab received $1.1 million in funding from the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR).
Labs & Teams: The Lum Lab is actively involved in cancer immunotherapy research, collaborating on projects supported by major grants and institutional partnerships.
