Julian Gregory

Julian Gregory is a Doctorial Researcher and Tutor at the Science Policy Research Unit (SPRU) within the University of Sussex Business School. He is a member of the Sussex Energy Group and expects to submit his PhD thesis in early 2020, titled: 'What aspects of governance deter private investors from financing large-scale electricity network infrastructure in sub-Saharan Africa?'

Education:

• MSc (Distinction) in Science and Technology Policy
• BSc in Politics and International Politics (joint honours)
• Various financial market qualifications from the UK and Australia

His research focuses on financing electricity infrastructure development in sub-Saharan Africa, particularly governance factors influencing private investment. He teaches on Masters modules in the Accounting and Finance department at the University of Sussex. Before academia, he spent 23 years in financial markets across the UK and Australia.
